Michael was born and raised in Austin, TX. He received his bachelor’s in psychology with a minor in business from Texas State University. Michael began his career in healing as a Patient Resource Specialist for the American Cancer Society. At ACS, Michael’s focus was on finding patients the resources they desperately needed to complete their cancer treatments. After working for ACS for several years, Michael decided that he wanted to help others in a more hands-on way, which led him to his calling as a massage therapist. He began his career as a licensed massage therapist working in a chiropractic office, and eventually moved on to work at Milk + Honey for a few years before he began his current position at Oak Haven Massage. There, Michael was able to further pursue his interest in the technique known as ‘Myofascial Release’ and is now a specialist in the technique. Michael enjoys working with people with many diverse needs including athletes and those with physical disabilities or chronic pain that impacts their quality of life. Michael is a true believer in the healing power of Myofascial Release and knows that the temporary discomfort associated with the treatments is worth the long term benefits of relief from muscular pain. In his free time, he enjoys being with his family, especially his two papillon pups, Mileaux and Zoe, and his wife, Claire, who is a Social Worker at Dell Children’s Hospital.
